Birth Announcements, Version 2013

Every year I make a number of birth announcements for friends. I've had three big ones that I've been working on recently. I have already finished two and am working on the third. The first was a cute little elephant for a cute little girl! It was so nice to meet you, little Eliana!!
I also finished an Alice in Wonderland White Rabbit birth announcement for a friend at work. This was a huge pain to finish, the backstitching about killed me, but it's done! WOOOOO!
The one I am still working on is a Superhero ABC Sampler that is super fun to work on! I am currently on "M" so I'm halfway there! Here are a couple letters... I don't want to reveal too much to make sure the recipients don't get too much of a sneak peek!!
I will post the full sampler whenever I get it done. Thanks for looking!

This One Time, I Made Broncos Stuff

I don't watch football. I'm not a big sports fan. But a very sweet friend of mine asked me last week if I could make her a scarf out of Broncos colors, since the Broncos were going to the Super Bowl. Since I had yarn left over, I also made her a hat. I got them done in time for her to wear them at her Super Bowl party! Too bad we lost really, really badly. At least the scarf and hat turned out well. :)
Thanks for looking!

How Long Have I Been Stitching?

Well, over 20 years. I started when I was in elementary school. Here are some things that I made for my mom when I still lived at home. I recently took some photos when I went home to visit. The photos are crummy and too dark, but I think you get the idea.
Technically, the last one was one I made after I moved out and my mom framed it! Thanks for looking!

Some More Stuff to Look At!

I had a friend at work ask me the other day if I was still doing my blog. Well, yeah, I guess. Officially. But it's been over a year, so I suppose I should add some pictures on here, eh? Let's see, where to begin? There is a company called The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery and it's pretty much my favorite thing ever. Their patterns are all so cute, easy to understand, and fun! The gals who run it are always present online and will answer any questions that you might have about what you are working on. They are a great company. Here's some stuff of theirs that I have worked on in the past year:
This is their 2013 Woodland Sampler. You got a pattern each month to put together into this!! Apologies for not having this ironed... I think you still get the idea. Since this was so cute, I decided to put the little owl on my iPhone cover:
Love it! I also finished my tiger-skin rug! I'm a little iffy about stitching on plastic canvas... it hurts my hands. But I like the outcome! I use this as a mousepad at work.
I made this baby Bender (I hope I haven't posted this one already!)
This is a small gift I made for a friend who had surgery (Another Frosted Pumpkin design, I believe!)
This came as a free gift with one of my cross stitching magazines. It is stitched on wood! My first time stitching on wood. :)
This is the Frosted Pumpkin Spring Sampler from last year (eek! Another one not ironed!)
Oh! I finally completed the diner cross stitch I started years and years ago!! I think it turned out great!
I also pledged to make handmade gifts for five friends in 2013. I've only been able to give two of them to their owners (just haven't met up with the others yet, but they are done!!) Here are the two. I don't want to ruin the other three if their owners happen to see this post!
I made a wedding gift for my friend Kara, which I think is pretty beautiful. She picked a good one. :)
I still make lots of bookmarks! This was a Mario one that I thought was pretty sweet:
Phew! I think that was waaaay too long. I will continue in another post! Apologies for any pictures that are not oriented properly, I've had trouble trying to rotate them. Thanks for reading!

Birds and Truffles

This is kind of a mish mash post- I have a couple other pics to add but don't have a lot to say about them. So without further ado... Some colorful birds. This was a European pattern that I found and I LOVED the colors. Pretty neat, eh?
And this is what might happen if you help me out with something- a "thank you" gift!
Until next time....

Futurama

Kicks ass. And that is why I made this for Cody:
This pattern was from a company called Wee Little Stitches. They rule! They have all kinds of cute nerdy stuff, it's pretty much heaven for me. You'll be seeing a lot more posts as I stitch more of their patterns. Golden Girls, Star Wars, Doctor Who... it's going to be amazing!!

Diner Update

The last post I made last year was on a diner cross stitch that I had started. Well, I've gotten more done! This project got pushed aside for all the baby stuff that I've been making the last 8 or so months. I picked this one back up recently, and here is the progress that I've made:
Man I love this pattern. I'll continue to update- hopefully the next time I post about this WIP it will be DONE!!!
