The Diner.
One pattern that I saw years ago that I've always wanted to do is this one, for an old-timey diner. I just love it. Now that I have time, I've started it! Here is an in-progress photo (it seems like a lot of the stuff I've posted lately is in-progress, such is the craft!!)... I was able to breeze through this first half while watching all the seasons of Sons of Anarchy. Pretty awesome.
Who doesn't want a tiger skin rug?
One of the things that I started around the time I started that birth announcement was a mousepad shaped like a tiger-skin rug. This is done on plastic canvas as opposed to the normal aida cloth and let me tell you, it's a pain in the ass! It looks really cool, but the canvas is harder to work with and my hands get too sore to do much at a time. This one will take a while to finish, but in the meantime, here is the beginning of my mousepad!
Bookmark Frenzy
After I finished the birth announcement, I had to figure out what other things I wanted to make that I didn't have time for previously. I realized that my "to make" pile had a lot of bookmark patterns, so off I went! Here is a sample of what I've been doing the last few weeks:
Some pretty flowers. There are two other patterns in this series that I might just have to make too!
This one looks even better in person, where you can see the colors fade into each other better. I really like this one!
Just because I love penguins.
This is one I am making for Cody. You can kind of see the metallic thread outline of the ticket in this pic, but again, it looks better in person! This one is not completely done yet.

The Birth Announcement!
So as I mentioned in my last post (last summer, geez), most of my time was being taken up by a birth announcement. It is FINALLY done and I have already given it to the happy parents. I told them I would get it done before she turned 1!! I hope that as soon as they get it framed I can post a photo of their daughter with the announcement, because she is one of the cutest babies ever. Here it is:

I think you can see why it took so long! I also had to make 8 scarves for Christmas presents so I had a lot going on, needless to say.
Until next time!
